  + 120 !

This week-end, the Car@van arrived at its departure point, completing in 120 days the First Interactive Round the World Tour.

Today, the Journal is written by virtual travelers who became real !

The roles have reversed. Some of us, Virtuals have become Real, and we can today write the Journal. What a great emotion to be on the other side of the screen, for once ! There are no barriers neither frontiers, no outlines neither rules. We're here to tell you how the roads of the Car@van's body and mind cross: we're in the café Bibli, a library and multimedia space in the heart of Rome, in the area of Trastevere.

Theo's drinking a coffee as Aleko plays with his inseparable guitar. It's easy for us to recognize them, after we've stayed 4 months "with them" and guided then across the 5 continents. Their faces show a mutual surprise: how did they imagine us as they were running after zebras, chasing the Indonesian mosquitoes, swimming in Ushuaia's freezing water...

At 4.30 pm, the lights turn off. The show begins: in front of us, on a big screen, the beautiful images of the trip. Aleko comments as Theo, wearing a rasta wig, appears and disappears all around the room. And then we live the travel again, all together this time... (watch the video).

Just before the projection...

I'm looking around me and, in the half-light, see so many different people: women, men, young and older people, from the north as from the south. Friends of a time, friends of a life-time, friends of a few hours... I sit comfortably on a chair. I look left, then right...

The voices mix all together: after entire nights spent chatting under code names, Virtuals meet and hug, physically, this time.

The embarrassment of the first handshake is already gone... the Team's boys are with us: Real and Virtual Worlds become one. WOW !

The screen lights on... let the trip begin !

"I breathe the intense and sweet smell of an Indonesian cigarette that Aleko brought with him. The odor mixes with Rome's humid and fresh air.

The kiss of these so different smells makes me think about so many things... there... here... so many people we can meet, discover, connect with.

It's yours, it's mine, it's ours. You must want it."

"I'm at Bibli's and at last I meet the 'Nomads People'.

I feel like being in a familiar place, between a piano, old books and friends who meet. The images are now shown on the screen, filling my mind. The colors are beautiful. I'm dreaming of traveling again.

"We meet in a library in the Trastevere area, between books and Italian food. Aleko comments the videos... in Italian or English, depending on what he's trying to express.

Theo, disguised in a 'Shakespearian' fool, decided not to speak the language of most of the spectators, and, when magic begins, nobody cares about this anymore. Suddenly, I understand that nobody speaks the place's language (Rome) or situation (an Italian public). We speak a global language, understood by all, that uses the images and different languages.

This may seem ordinary, but the sensation was very strong.

We'll see you on chat every Wednesday and Sunday at 8.30 pm GMT.

Concerning the next Journal, let us some time to have a good bath and sleep a little bit !

At the moment, you can still walk across the Continents we've just crossed (click on the top left) and watch the videos !

A big big hug. The Team and Virtuals
