Our short stay in Punta del Este confirmed the beauty of this seaside.

We're on one of the most beautiful beaches of the world, between the huge dunes of white sand and the Ocean. But the omnipresence of concrete is the inconvenient of this famous seaside city (and of all in general), with so many buildings that disfigure the landscape. Tourists come here between December and February, and a few more now , for Easter holidays.

We'd really like to stay here and relax, in order to recover a little bit, but we got to follow your indications as usual. We go to Montevideo to look for a TV channel that would accept to interview us.

Downtown, our friend Magda invites us in her house, in the area of Currasco. The house is full of souvenirs of travel, from Africa to Peru, from Europe to Montevideo. After a little coffee and a dulce de leche bar, she tells us about her life with photo albums. Her mother comes and gives us advices for our trip in Uruguay, for example visit a huge estancia or the Law Courts.

The Team knows he's now living its ultimate South American with the Car@van and all of us try to absorb the atmosphere and colors of this new country. We head off to discover the Uruguyan capital. Check out the video !

Montevideo

We get in the D1 bus, towards the 'old center' of Montevideo. Comfortably sat, we notice one thing we had never seen in a city bus: two TVs show video clips ! We let us drive smoothly with good music towards the heart of the city.

On the pavements along the seashore, dozens of persons are jogging, as the Rio de la Plata and and the Atlantic Ocean hit the beige sand beaches.

It's already autumn: a cool wind and some rain drops are there to remind it to us !

We get down on Plaza Independencia, Montevideo's geographic and historic center. We walk around, mixing ourselves with the many passers-by. Letting yourself be carried by the flow, go from big avenues to the little tiny streets, here is the best way to discover a big city.

There seems to be only white people with European faces. The standard of living is middle class, but it seems more balanced than in the countries around. People walk quietly, carrying a thermos and a cup of mate. Montevideo is a mix between Cuba and Europe.

In Uruguay, life seems quite quiet, the architecture and the very human atmosphere make us feel to know much more about this country...

On the Forum, we have chosen some phrases of the virtual nomads. Is yours here ?

"Travel is both an experience and a mystery. It's the knowledge of the other and yourself across the other." Mum

"Feeling at home and be able to have the 'doors' and 'windows' opened" Crizz

"Live your dreams, don't dream your life". Kripton

Thanks to you, the 'ABC' of the New Nomad continues...

This week's figures concern our survival... Here are the Team's weighs - in comparison with the ones from the departure and the 50th day of travel.

Kilograms

Vale     54    55    57

Nicole   60    62    60

Theo     68    68    68

Marco   70    72    70

Aleko   92    91    92

With a lot of surprise, we have noticed that we have taken back our initial weigh... except Vale, who, with a few more kilos, has Latin shapes and is even more charming.

We found a TV channel ! Tomorrow, we'll be interviewed !

Then we'll talk to you about an excellent humanitarian project.

The new Voting Form is now on-line... don't miss it !
