Last hours in Australia !

The day begins with a long Chat with the Virtual People, at 22.00 pm GMT, 9.00 am in Australia, the morning after! The discussion is about organizing a big party with the Team in Paris for the 30th of March. For details, go on the Forum.

We have a meeting in the Renaissance Hotel - very close to the Opera - with Trish Pascuzzo, one of the managers of the Australian Tourist Commission. Sat in the comfortable bar of the hotel, we talk about our Australian journey. We tell about our anecdotes and our life on the road. Then, with a PC and a digital camera, we show Trish some of our work and the movies we made. We're very satisfied concerning our collaboration, and that's how the Team opens the way for New Nomads on the Red Continent.

Then we all go on our way for the afternoon, looking for a total immersion in Sydney's atmosphere.

Aleko and some real travelers go on the famous Bondy Beach, three quarters of an hour from the city center. That's where they will leave the sign of the Car@van. Read the anecdote and watch the video!

Maya gets lost in the streets and interviews people. She asks them one thing: "Have you got something to say to the World in 5 seconds ?". Click on the picture and watch the video !

Vale decides to send in Europe the things she has accumulated in more than 70 days of travel (shoes, surprises, objects...). Then she goes with Marco to try Cyber 3, the new computer.

Theo gets in the Sydney Explorer bus with 3Danish nomads and visits the entire city (26 stops). Then the 4 go and have a beer in a pub, close to Kings Cross.

The little story between Theo and Maya is still going on, maybe soon we'll see them together on a video !?

Now the whole Team would like to party. We get out in discos to have fun for the last time in the Australian night. We go to the 'Basement', a very famous place, 'Soho Bar', and listen to many good bands.

The night vanishes quickly. 5 hours from the departure to South America, we have a last glass of wine in front of the Opera, thinking about you !

Since the beginning of the First Interactive Round the World Tour, the Car@van realized many different actions and events in many different places.

Adventure, Sport, Ecology, Humanitarian, a lot of all of this is linked to you, with the Voting Forms, Chat and Forum.

Today, we left - just like in Africa (wall painting) and Asia (a tree in a rain forest) - a sign.

We chose to offer one of our guitars to a stranger. We go on the beach, plant the guitar in the sand and surrounded with the word FREE. At the beginning, nobody cares. Then, after one hour, a young traveler sees the instrument and takes it to play.

A way for us to give someone a chance, on the Continent of the Future ?... And it's much more beautiful to give than to sell isn't it !

But look at the video.

The Car@van would like to thank Australia: its inhabitants for their welcome, the landscapes for the spaces and colors, the media for their interest, the roads that accompanied us for more than 5000 km.

The Team would like to stay more but we have to go on with the game... we're in Your Hands !!!

Australia is a multicultural society. Until WWII, there were mainly English and Irish. But today, immigrants from Greece, Italy, Yugoslavia, Lebanon, Turkey, and today Asia gave life to a new population, multiethnic and balanced.

By many aspects, Australia looks like America. Social system, culture, innovation, all of the positive side of a modern, developed and powerful country.

The weak point of these two great nations is the relationship between white people and the autochthons - between past and present. In USA, Indians, in Australia, Aborigines: the problematic of colonization is still an opened wound.

But it's a sad story that could become fascinating if the modern culture could mix with the indigenous one.

Global culture should start from a respect and integration of local cultures.

Flight Qantas QF 115 from Sydney, Australia, to Buenos Aires, Argentina. How many hours does it take ?

Click now on the Voting Form to tell the next steps of the Car@van.

Chat with the Team on Sunday at 10.00 pm GMT, the Journal will be back on the 26.

See you in South America. Kisses !
